Welcome

August 2007

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students,
Welcome to a new year of "building a tradition of excellence" at Alton C. Crews Middle School. We are excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve as your leaders in advocacy for our children and youth. We believe that an informed advocate is an effective advocate; therefore, we pledge to keep you apprised of all PTSA events and welcome your suggestions.

Our PTSA provides parents, teachers, and students with effective avenues to make improvements in the lives of children by addressing health, educational, and social concerns. Through our programs and activities, we strive to meet the needs of all children and youth in our community.

We invite and encourage each of you to become a part of our PTSA through your membership and involvement in our committees, programs, and activities. Research has shown that a student's academic and social performance improves greatly with parental involvement. Through the sharing of ideas and participation by each of you, we will fulfill our mission and goals. These include being advocates for our children and youth, building strong bonds between home and school, and promoting student involvement in our school and community.

We look forward to another exciting year at Alton C. Crews Middle School!

Sincerely,

Sheila Boales and Christina McCann

Co-Presidents
